A map full of testing locations looks reassuring. It says much less about whether two sites will produce equally usable records for the same commercial question.
Our July discussions about a wider battery testing network raised an important operating challenge. Scaling a service means scaling the quality of its evidence, interpretation and exception handling alongside the number of sites.
Vertex Automotive Solutions would establish a minimum process before expanding the footprint. Confirm vehicle identity and compatibility, follow the required assessment procedure, retain the method and date, and make limitations clear. Staff need a route for questions the standard process cannot resolve.
The receiving organisation matters too. A fleet, auction or retailer should be able to understand what the report establishes without relying on a personal explanation from the original tester. That requires consistent records and clear responsibility for corrections.
For Omnia, this creates a useful intelligence requirement. Evidence should retain enough context to travel between authorised participants without becoming detached from its origin. A larger dataset is only helpful if the underlying records remain interpretable and appropriately governed.
A network review should examine completed assessments and downstream usefulness alongside geographic coverage. The question is whether the receiving business can rely on the record without having to reconstruct the test.
